Rock Climbing in Pere Marquette State Park, Illinois: April 2018

This place has some nice limestone, and it’s especially nice if you’re in the Grafton, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri area and don’t want to pay for a gym membership or drive more than an hour to crag climb. There are a lot of climbing options and walls range from 5.6 to 5.12 so everyone can get a good challenge here. If you’re in the area, I definitely suggest checking it out!

Definitely check out Mountain Project for more info before you go! You’ll find that it has some good information about each route with ratings and clear photos, but once you get there you’re kind of clueless as to where the hell the route you saw online actually is, so save the photos of the route you want to climb so you have an idea of what to look for.

Here is a topo map of the area and a few photos of the rock quality/us climbing!
